The twat rides again! Half-marathon take 2.

My plans to do the half-marathon last year fizzled out, but this year it is on!

I’ve been following a training programme I found on the net and doing the mid-week runs in my lunch hour and the long runs on the weekend. Since my bitch boss went on maternity leave, things in the office have been much more relaxed and no-one seems to care whether I disappear for an hour (or often more…lol) in the middle of the day to do my thing, so it’s working out well. I also find that going out for a run helps protect my sanity while at work by giving me an excuse to get away from my desk and the phone.

So…the course is this:

The Perth City 2 Surf is well-known for its hilly course. If you look at the elevation graph you’ll quickly see it starts with a mother of a hill, ends with a hill and there’s a lovely 2km mother of a hill in the middle just for fun.

There are apparently 49 days left until race day. That’s 7 weeks to the day. That equates to 35 more training runs. I’m looking forward to going into retirement.

  1. Good luck with your half marathon if you haven’t done it yet. I have completed about 4 of them and they become addicting so don’t be too sure of retirement
