Week 9 begins

I was feeling ever-so-unmotivated over the weekend, so I didn’t manage to haul my ass out for a run. Instead, I went shopping with M today and then decided to take the scenic route home – doing a lap around a nearby lake (i.e half-dried up swamp-like lake thing) and then heading for home.

I slathered up with suncream and headed out at 12:30pm (mmmm…hottest time of the day) and did the 12km home in about 1hr 10min (including about 15mins of walking for warm up, cool down and recovery intervals).

Plugging in my course and times into mapmywalk, I discovered that I broke the 6 min/ km barrier. Yay! Actually, to be precise it was a 5:54 pace so that is not bad.

There is a 10km fun run on November 7th down in Fremantle and I got all excited when I discovered it was on, only to be less excited when I discovered it started at 7am and you have to be there from 6:15am for registration. Considering Fremantle is about an hour’s drive from home, it would mean waking up at 4:30am or something ridiculous like that in order to get there on time.

I’m crazy, but I ain’t that crazy, so I think I’ll be passing on that one.

By the way, week nine of Freeway to 10k looks like this:

I was running along thinking that there were only two fast intervals in the session, so I got all excited when the second one finished, then the bell for the third interval went off and I was like, “WTF??” Lol…I do that to myself every time.

    1. Yeah…what I find hilarious is that I can’t keep count..EVER.

I was thinking that the distance was feeling a lot shorter than normal…
